How is The Donor Bank different from a traditional donor bank?
We actively search, recruit, and curate donors specifically for you, based on what matters most — whether that’s culture, values, education, personality, or something more personal.
What if I want a donor from a specific ethnic or cultural background?
We specialise in expanding choice for people who are underrepresented in traditional donor banks and will search locally or globally to find aligned donors.
How much information will I receive about a donor?
Across all pathways, we share as much information as is legally permitted in the relevant country. Even with anonymous donors, this can still include rich, non-identifying detail — such as background, education, interests, values, personality insights, and voice recordings or video introductions — as long as the donor’s identity isn’t revealed.
Some recipients want deep, personal insight. Others prefer a more clinical, limited profile.
Some donors are happy to be identifiable; others prefer to remain anonymous.
We respect both sides — and tailor the level of information shared to what’s legal, appropriate, and mutually comfortable.
You remain in control of how much you want to know, and we ensure the process is handled safely and ethically at every stage.
Will I be able to see or hear the donor before deciding?
Matched donors provide a video or voice introduction, so you can get a sense of who they are as a person — not just what’s written on paper.
Do you support both private and clinic donation routes?
We explain both options clearly, including expectations, boundaries, and legal considerations — and support whichever path you choose.
Can you refer me to a fertility clinic?
If you need clinic support, we can refer you to trusted partners. Clinic referral is optional and entirely your choice.
Is the consultation really free?
Your initial consultation is completely free and no-obligation. It’s simply a chance to talk through your needs and see if we’re the right fit.
What if I’m not sure what I want yet?
Many people start with questions, not answers. The consultation is designed to help you explore your options — at your pace.
What do your fees cover — and are there any additional costs?
In some cases, additional costs may apply, for example:
Where third-party agencies or international donor networks are involved
Where donor compensation and/or out-of-pocket expenses are permitted, depending on the country, donation pathway, and local regulations
For clients using our International Donor Concierge service, logistics and sample transport are included as part of the package.
Please note that our fees do not include medical screening (such as genetic testing), clinic treatment costs, or legal fees where required. If any of these are needed, we’ll explain the options and associated costs clearly.
